Samsung Galaxy phones will soon share files with iPhones via Quick Share AirDrop.
For years, sharing files between Android phones and iPhones has been difficult. Apple users rely on AirDrop, while Android users use Quick Share, but the two systems could never connect until now. Recently, Google made Quick Share work with AirDrop on iPhones, but this feature is currently limited to the Pixel 10 series. Naturally, Samsung users are asking: will Galaxy phones get this too? The answer is yes, but not just yet.
Quick Share AirDrop Coming to Samsung
Google confirmed that more Android phones will gain Quick Share AirDrop compatibility in the future. However, there’s no official rollout date or list of supported devices. Qualcomm is also working to enable this feature on Snapdragon chipsets. The new Quick Share AirDrop bridge uses Wi-Fi Aware and standard wireless protocols, meaning any Galaxy phone that supports Wi-Fi Aware could transfer files to iPhones.
Wi-Fi Aware is already present on most modern chipsets, including Samsung Exynos and MediaTek.
This cross platform file-sharing feature is expected to arrive on most Galaxy phones soon, making file transfers between Android and iOS easier than ever.
